A mental health crisis is a situation caused by an individual’s apparent mental disorder, which results in a high level of stress or anxiety for the individual, persons providing care for the individual or the public. The stressful situation cannot be resolved by the available coping methods of the individual or by the efforts of those providing ordinary care or support. 

There are multiple ways to access support during a crisis:

Telephone Crisis Intervention – Crisis intervention can be obtained 24 hours, 7 days per week through the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center at (262) 284-7172. 

Walk-In Crisis Services – Provided between hours of 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Walk-ins will be triaged by a staff member on case by case basis. Services offered include assessments, response planning, and information about community resources. For more information, please call, (262) 284-8200. 

Crisis services also include community mobile response, short-term hospital care, and linkage/coordination services.
