About K9 Wasko & K9 Rev

Ever since their birth, both K9 Rev and K9 Odin were trained and prepared for life as a police dog. Both K9s were flown to the United States as yearlings, where they started police training at the Steinig Tal Kennels in Campbellsport, WI. As young and very energetic pups, they still had a lot to learn about how to work and listen to their new handlers' commands.

Both K9 handlers, Sergeant Ronan and Sergeant Kickhaver, also had to learn to speak their language (German) in order to communicate with them. These German commands are used with the K9s to this day, and will continue throughout their life as a police dog. K9 Odin graduated from the academy in 2022 and K9 Rev graduated from the academy in 2017. Both were then immediately sworn in with the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office by the Sheriff and used in various capacities.

Their fellow K9 graduates and alumni from Steinig Tal Kennels serve with a huge variety of Law Enforcement agencies throughout the country at the Federal, State and Local levels. K9s work for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Secret Service (USSS), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), all branches of the United States Military and, of course, local Sheriff and Police Departments.

Both K9s are expertly trained in suspect apprehension, drug searches, and missing persons tracking. K9 Rev also serves on the Ozaukee County SWAT team and is used regularly on SWAT calls.

Sergeant Ronan joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2009 and Sergeant Kickhaver joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2018. Both Sergeants have served in the Jail and Patrol Divisions.
