Overview


WDB LogoThe Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington (WOW) Workforce Development Board is one of Wisconsin’s eleven regional Boards originally established by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. After 16 years and 11 since it was due to be reauthorized, WIA has transitioned to the new legislation known as the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). WIOA is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.  

The WOW Workforce Development Board works in collaboration with the Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington County local elected officials, economic development corporations, businesses and the community to address macroeconomic workforce issues. The WOW Workforce Development Board has selected WOW Workforce Development Inc., a private non-profit corporation, to be the fiscal and administrative agent for the Boards funds and programs and is the entity that coordinates service providers and activities within the tri-county Workforce Development Centers. Under WIOA, a Workforce Development Center consists of various partner agencies that collaborate under one roof to create and deliver unified services that retain and enhance long-term employment outcomes for customers.
 
The Ozaukee County Workforce Development Center is located on the Moraine Par Technical College campus in West Bend This location’s partnership includes the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Rescare Workforce Services, Wisconsin Job Service, and WOW Workforce Development, Inc.
